Ladies and Gentlemen, Facebook has officially lost “The Magic”. How could this be possible?? isn’t Facebook one of the most important and actual companies on USA?? Dude what are you talking about??. Simple, Facebook doesn’t obey anymore it’s basic function, get information directly from your friends, about your friends’ life.

I’ll explain you this in a quick way. Facebook is so overloaded with junk information (apps, crappy calendars, meaning-less games, dumb quizzes) that you can’t go to the Facebook page and see something you like or get “any information” updated (a.k.a. gossip.) I log in today and I only saw 3 things:

1- Someone is Aries and he’ll be rich tomorrow.
2- Someone ask “her heart” and it told her (in Facebook) she needs to get a boyfriend.
3- Almost 547 messages about “Hey recuerda mandar tu lista a…”

People’s looking for real and direct contact with their friends, the only thing apps are doing is making people think that there’s no need for them to post or update his/her status. They think “Facebook is to stalk, not to be stalked” “I wont share my pictures, bleh.. they’re mine!” “I prefer people not to look at my wall so I’ll close it”. Think about it, you wont be the only one who think that. The result, in a near feature you’ll not be able to stalk because everything is going to be locked.

The combination of these two facts (Facebook apps and the fear of been stalked by others) is making Facebook’s users to loose the connection with friends. People is, little by little, stop updating it’s profiles and consequently considering Facebook useless.

Why I would keep using my Facebook if I want to see the pictures of the weekend’s trip which my friend attends but I don’t know the gal who makes the album?

What is people doing? taking alternatives. Yep, by alternatives I mean Twitter. Twitter’s a most direct way to share information about what you’re doing at the moment. It’s not an app talking about fortune stuff, it’s your friend saying “Hey I’ll make a conference tomorrow”. Similar? yep, but not equal. The app-less platform makes users who use it to “tweet” because if you don’t you’re not doing anything but reading (And soon or later you’ll want to get into the conversation, yep.. you’ll tweet!)

Get information directly from your friends. I dare you to get a friend on twitter by the weekend. You won’t regret, you’ll be more connected to him/her and he/she’ll have a nice time using Twitter.

Have a nice week!

Based on a profile picture, you can get very useful kind of information. Many people think that’s only a picture and anyone deserve to have a custom profile picture according with their likes or hobbies. Guess what? You’re totally right.

gettheworst

The big deal here is that a profile picture, display picture or even an e-mail signature can describe you better than if I ask you for. A display picture or profile picture is like your online “presentation card”. You can get a lot of information from them.

Let’s say that a friend of mine have a profile picture like the picture that’s attached to this post. What can you get from it? The person doesn’t have their priorities in order, he likes to get drunk a lot, he doesn’t care about his professional stuff. He rather to have a “epic drunk night” than his family or friends. His best friend is called alcohol. He tries to get some attention because in his childhood he wasn’t that popular and he mentally is trying to imitate what others did at that age. And you can get much more.

If I’ve for example a girl friend that changes her profile picture every two days and she's got company on every profile picture (a different guy in each picture) You can say that she’s really needed of love, and she wants to call the attention of other girls to say them “Hey I’ve a boyfriend” but she’s actually not confident about herself. She probably lost her true love ‘cause her jealous behavior or maybe ‘cause another gal that took “his man” away. She depends of people ideas or opinions. She needs a friend close to her who really understand her. Or (depending on the picture, how she’s dressed, the expressions, etc ) she could be a sl*t.

You see? you can get a lot of information about a profile picture. People need to reorganize their ideas and ask themselves “How do I want people to remember me?” In order to project themselves the way they want others to see them.
1) If you’re a professional that’s looking for job, you’ve to look professional, take yourself a photo in a speech or something and put it as profile picture.
2) If you’re a young professional you can use (like I’m actually using) a “manga avatar” or “comic avatar” with a professional look.
3) If you want people to recognize your friends are first, you’ll have a profile picture with your friends.
4) If you want your mate to know she’s especial for you, you’ll have a p.p. with her.
5) If you want people to know you’re compromised with your work, you’ll have a picture with your hobbie or you doing your actual work.
6) If you’ve a display picture that’s only you in a close up. You’re indicating who you’re, “if you like it.. cool, if you don’t f*ck yourself, I’m cool with the way I’m”
7) If you want people to know you’ve a mess with your life, then use a picture like the one attached on this post.

Trust:
Assured resting of the mind on the integrity, veracity, justice, friendship, or other sound principle, of another person; confidence

It’s to hard to find someone who you trust. People, friends or even companies can be difficult to analyze in order to know if you can trust or not on them. I’m going to talk about a company (who yesterday made me change my opinion about them) on this blog post.

Let’s see, where do I should start? I think that’s better if you know that I’m the owner of a Nokia Xpress Music 5800, and personally I love my mobile device.

Everything began two weeks ago when my Nokia was apparently passing through a difficult age, can I call it.. Nokia’s teenage?. Firmware, Hardware and even some apps issues were driving me crazy, so I decided to go to the mobile’s Doctor @ Movistar. One week passed by and I was waiting for my Nokia device when they called my dad and said him:

What they said:
Tendremos su celular para eso del viernes en la tarde.

Ok I’ll trust them, I thought. Friday’s afternoon and my dad brought home a “brand new Nokia 5800” because mine was having serious issues. I was happy and everything seems to go back to normal.

Today, I woke in the morning feeling like “mareaMe, Movistar”. First, I left my mobile device charging since 6pm and they told me “It’s a brand new phone so you’ve to charge it 24 hours first” When I saw it today, it was turned off, it didn’t charge, and the cherry of the ice-cream… IT WAS MY NOKIA’S OLD BATTERY.

I mean, seriously Movistar, if you think “Brand new device means” a Transformer with the same battery as I had before, the same stylus and probably other old parts, we have to talk. What’s the deal with and old battery? I’ll explain: The batteries have a lifetime, the only thing that they are pretending is that my guaranty reach to the deadline so if my battery have issues they can say “We don’t know what happen it’s a brand new battery and you’re not on your guaranty period.”

I’m very disappointed with these “decision” you made and I’ll make the report on Monday. I hope you get it fixed soon, I trusted on you. That’s one of the thing that I talked in a speech on Thursday, credibility is one of the most important fact a company have to develop if they want to have influence over people.

“En estos tiempos como están las cosas, tenemos que ahorrar hasta tweets” – @ArleSPinzon
It’s well known for everyone that dealing with a challenge is not a simple thing. You deal with challenges everyday but the ones that count are the ones that make you do your best.

1 Month ago, a Twitterfriend ask me if I was interested on a conference called “PanamaTwittea”, for personal reasons I couldn’t make it. I can’t explain you how frustrated I was after the PanamaTwittea1, I really wanted to participate and show others my ideas.  2 weeks ago the same Twitterfriend (@DionisioGuerra) ask me again if I was interested in PanamaTwittea. My first reaction: YES. A week passed by, and the things in college began to get a little rough ( a lot of thing to do and to study) so I “FbChat” with Dionisio and I said him that probably I wouldn’t make it.

The same day I went to a brotherhood with 2 friends of mine ( Miguel & @SnowAbe ), and the man who was talking say something really meaningful: “Tienes que pelear por tus sueños, no importa lo grande de los retos”. Also the same day, a good friend of mine (@AlexaQuito) analyze my brain with her psychologist’s methods and convince me to think a little about the situation. 1 day after that I talked with a friend of mine who I trust  (@titon26, btw Thanks bro!). And he said me “Yo digo que vayas viejo, no sabes cuantas puertas te puede abrir”. Those two facts made me get into PanamaTwittea 2.0, I organize myself and I do all the works I have to do in order I can assist. The results? GREAT!

It was something really nice, also another bro was there (@ismaeljgonzalez) giving me support on my first big challenge. If you haven’t had the opportunity to express yourself with a lot of people. DO IT!. The people was really nice with me. The ones who talked with me told me that it was an excellent presentation and that they learn a lot with my speech, one lady said me “Chamo te botaste, soy tu fan numero uno” (Wow! what a nice feeling! haha). Later I answer some questions at the end of the my presentation.

Let me tell you something, it was meaningful for me because I really proved myself my potential, and for future presentations I’ll surpass myself with a better presentation.

Thanks everyone for you comments and #FF! Smile

For those users who want to install the Beta and get it worked, I present to you in a few steps the guide of “how to make your WLW copy works”

1- Look for the Torrent on internet (Piratebay: Windows Live Wave 4)
2- Install the Windows Live Essentials (recommended)
3- Once you install the Windows Live Essentials ( That’s the name of the Windows Live Services' setup) you’ve to press: Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Select “Task Manager” (Administrador de Tareas, en español)
4- Look for “msnmsgr.exe” and click on “Stop service”
5- Get your copy of the cracked file msnmsgr.exe and replace it for the one that is on: C:/Programs Files/Windows Live/Messenger
6- Open your Windows Live Messenger and enjoy.

Guide made by me @ArleSPinzon.
I wont post the link to any of the resources ( and I’m talking about the setup and the crack)

Yep, it’s true and I finally check it by myself. The Windows Live Messenger emoticons, who are now integrated on other Windows Live Services, have been updated. ( Yay! Open-mouthed)

This is the new 2010’s collection:

The so wanted version of what would be the next big release of the popular Windows Live Messenger has been leaked over the web.

Programas da instalação.

Today’s morning, the first Windows Live Essentials 2010 setup was un-officially released. That’s right it’s a leak ( in the technology aspect a leak use to be the release of a product without the confirmation of the main owner).

What’s the problem with this leak? it’s un-official. Everyone over the web have access to the download but it’s dangerous to use it. It’s dangerous because it could be edited so the people who release the build could get easily your password or it could make you fight with your computer to downgrade the Wave’s version to the original Wave 3.

Many users around the globe have adventured to download the leaked version, the results? not good. Some users say that they can’t log in ( that’s because Microsft is regulating who log in. It’s a closed beta tho). It’s nothing new, I’m an ex-betatester of Windows Live Products and I can say that this isn’t something new, if you’re not part of the MVP (Most Value Personal) you can’t log in.

My recommendation for you guys is not to download it. If you download it do not try to install it, the only thing you’ll get are several issues with your Messenger and Windows Live Services in general.

As it’s true that there’re a lot of people who use correctly twitter (for sharing and getting information), it’s also well known that there are people who’s beginning using the platform. For those beginner users, I’ve a quick guide of  “5 things you’ve to avoid on twitter”

1 - Your information depends on the people you follow, make sure you only follow your friends and those artists or business companies that interest you.

2 - The number of followers you’ve it’s directly proportional to your “reputation” on twitter. The quantity of followers says others “Hey that’s an influential person, you should follow him. Maybe your information will be useful for you in a future.” (Try to keep the number of followers increasing not the opposite)

3- Define your own category. It’s true that you can tweet about anything but if want to have a special reputation in a category (For example Technology) make sure to have useful information on the field and do not spam your contacts with jokes or things like that.

4- Don’t try to show yourself like a “Diva”. If someone ask you something in a reply or in a DM you should answer the reply. It shows that you care about your followers and maybe other people could like this and follow you.

5- Do NOT… – and I repeat out loud – DO NOT ask for followers. Don’t use “Get followers easy with this amazing…” stuff. You’ll get twitter followers as soon your tweets get important to others.

Do you have any other tip to share? You can leave a comment with it.

As everything in live, it’s important for everyone to practice some manners. It could be in the work, with your friends, with your family but also you can practice some online manners.

This is “Twitter Manners” by me, @ArleSPinzon

First of all it’s important to say that Twitter is actually one of the most important social platform to share and also to get information. On the twitter platform there’re different types of information. You can find Spam, social information, celebrity’s information, local’s information, and so on.

What’s the basic problem? People doesn’t practice some “Twitter Manners”.

Things that are important for you to learn about twitter:

- Follow Friday is not a day to share your contact list, it’s a day in which you share the people you really consider interesting so people can follow them.

- There’s a “reply” mode in which people can reply or comment a tweet of a friend or twitter user. If you use “ RT @fulano Apples are fruits // LOL.. that’s cool” it’s going to be a little annoying. If you want people to look at the tweet you comment, you should reply to the tweet and then your twitter friends would click on “in reply to @fulano” under your tweet and see the original tweet. The other way is that you click on “ReTweet Button” so your contacts look at it.

- FYI: If you write “ @username <and here you put the tweet>” your friends only would see the tweet if they’re following your friend. If you write “Hello @username how’re you?” it’s because you want your friends to see what you write to @username.

- If you see something weird on a friend’s tweet, for example: “I lost 10 punds with this OMG http://linkthatisobiouslyavirus.com” do not click it, you’re not affecting only you but your twitter friends.

- Try your tweets to be interesting, it’s better the quality of your tweet than the quantity.

- Do not tweet so often about trends, like for example people who tweet about “#IRemember” and they write an autobiography of their life. (People could unfollow you)

- Do not ask for followers, if your tweets worth you should get followers in any time.

- Have FUN! but remember, the basic of twitter is to share information. Share the information you like to update your friends in your daily life, about what’s happening on your country, about celebrities, etc.

“And the award goes to… The Hurt Locker” were the last words pronounced yesterday in the 82th Ceremony of The Oscars. The polemical award for the best motion picture was one of the most talked thing on the online world (And obviously I’m refering to Twitter).

Never before, I’d seen more online opinions or tweets about what was happening in a ceremony than yesterday. With the hashtag #PanamaOscars many people in my country were sharing their ideas about who’ll win the so wanted “Best motion Picture’s award”. At first, I thought that yesterday would be the night for the Navi’s team. After watching the ceremony for a couple of hours the score was: Avatar 2 – The Hurt Locker 3. Many of us were rooting for James Cameron’s picture, others were rooting for his ex-wife’s movie.

The “celebration time” for James C. ends with “And the award goes to… The Hurt Locker”  and like some of my friends were saying “He was blue as an avatar”.

Now, I’m getting to watch the Kathryn Bigelow’s movie (also I think she’s the first woman who won that Oscar category) and I’ll share my thoughts later in a tweet :)

 facebooksnot

I begin this post with a simple sentence: “Facebook is not the same”. But the thing that we really need to ask to ourselves is, has facebook really improved? or the “change” that I’m talking is about external facts?

My opinion:  Facebook has improved, in the web and also in the Computer World, the programs and the websites have to improve  constantly. The way Facebook has evolved from the basic social platform that was before is really awesome, cool new features have seen the light and have helped many stalkers over the web to have their work done, it has more stability now a days and it’s (after Google) the most visited website in Panama.

What’s actually happening?  Facebook got company (and I’m talking about Buzz and Twitter, most of all…Twitter). Facebook it’s well known as an spot for stalker to get over another persons life and get all the information they need about it, something I consider… LAME. In facebook you add the persons you once met, in twitter you follow the person which you want to know more or the people that you really care, there’s no need to follow anyone.

What’s a fact that’s making some people move to Twitter? Facebook’s Apps. The huge quantity of senseless apps. Who cares about what’s the color of the fingernail of my feature wife? I mean WTF.

What’s a fact that’s making people to continue using Facebook? Photos. You’ve your photos stored there and you don’t want to loose them, also your friends tag you on photos they have and that’s the only way you receive them.

Facebook has improved, but your objectives have changed, you don’t want to stalk anymore… you want some people to follow your life and you want to get information around the globe from not only your friends but also newspapers and celebrities.
