Foursquare, the geo-location platform app for smartphone gets a little update. Today morning, iPhone and iPod owners have been alerted about a new update of Foursquare which brings 2 new features: Comments and Pictures.
It’s consider a little update for me, because there’s not a huge GUI (Graphic User Interface) change, everything works the same way. It’s important and huge the new features because they make Foursquare more social.
Imagine you’re near a movie theater and a friend of yours check-in on that Movie theater saying “I’m going to see _____ movie” (fill the blank). You’d probably say:
“Hey! that’s a great movie, I’m going to buy the tickets right now”
or--
“It’s a little borring, try this one ________, it’s really awesome but many people haven’t heard of it”
It could be a new way of giving feedback in a more personal way to your friends.
But, what if we want for example, to go to a restaurant but we don’t know if we’re going to like the environment, maybe we would like something fancy and we reach to “Hello I’m your friend Taco”. That’s why Foursquare is also implementing “Photos”.
You go to a place, you like it and you take a picture of it. You may want to share that picture (of the restaurant) with others so they can get to know a new restaurant. Believe me, I would want to go to a site that I’ve seen on a picture than a “guess what?” type of restaurant.
What do you think about the update?
